Child stars are often stuck with the stigma that they wouldn’t be able to transition into having a successful career as an adult. Most of them find themselves broke due to excessive spending of the money that made as a child star. Others turn to drugs to cope with the idea that people will still view them as the child they used to be. However, some former child stars were able to beat the child star curse and grew up to have successful careers as an adult. Mayim Bialik got her start as the star of the NBC series, Blossom in the mid 90’s. After the show ended, Bialik attended UCLA and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Hebrew, and Jewish studies as well as a degree in neuroscience. She went on to earn a doctorate degree in neuroscience and earned her Ph.D. degree in 2007.
Mayim Bialik can currently be seen playing Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler in CBS’ The Big Bang Theory.
Alyssa Milano got her start in the 1980’s ABC series, ‘Who’s the Boss’ starring as Samantha Micelli. After the show ended Milano transformed from child star to adult and starred in Melrose Place, Charmed and Mistresses.
Besides acting, Alyssa Milano is a humanitarian and was appointed Founding Ambassador for Global Network for Neglected Tropical Diseases.
